Are you currently looking to cover a piece of furniture you adore? If so, I have the perfect fabric for you. It is a beautiful blend of neutral greys and creams with a shimmering undertone of champagne – it is absolutely a stunning blend of metallic gold and silver. I imagine it would look spectacular in just about any décor and theme you currently have or are creating. That is the beauty of animal prints – they fit in to just about any décor!
I purchased this Victoria chair ten years ago from Calico Corners. So the frame is spectacularly solid, and due to the fact it has always been in the Master bedroom, it still feels new, and was the perfect candidate for a reupholster job.
Decorate with what makes you happy! Surrounding yourself with people and décor that puts a smile on your face is always a good idea as it definitely impacts our own Zen :) We all have different things that speak to us; for me it is a good animal print. I especially love leopard like prints, so when I came across this spectacular fabric at Calico corners, I had to find a way to incorporate it into my décor. Thus the chair and the pillow! Currently, I am working on my Master bedroom makeover and will later show you these items in their spaces once the room is complete.
All fabric purchased from Calico Corners.
- Leopard chair front and pillow: the Luxe Collection; Style: Saharian; Color: Silver Sage.

Years ago, a friend asked me to come over and give her my opinion on some fabric she was picking out for a room makeover. After discussing her fabric choices, I mentioned what she really needed to give the room that extra pop was an animal print incorporated into her theme. Just recently, I ran into her at a wedding (after not seeing her for a few years) and she laughed and said she had never forgotten what I told her about using animal print in décor. She said, “I think your exact quote was, ‘It is always a good idea to put one animal print in each room.’” Ok, I might have been overzealous in that comment, but in truth I do have an animal print in the majority of my own spaces, even if it is just on a pillow flange.
Lesson from this whole diatribe: Be careful what you say; sometimes it isn’t forgotten, even if it is just about decorating. And of course, do tastefully use animal prints to add pizazz to your décor, to make it beautiful by design.
